The EF510-300 series is an ACDC electric locomotive that was introduced to replace the ED76 and EF81 series currently operating in Kyushu. The previous 0 and 500 series, which mostly ran on DC sections, were equipped with regenerative braking, but the 300 series is equipped with AC regenerative braking since it mainly runs on AC sections.
